UPSL NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Olympians FCs Gustavo Vargas

July 10, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA – Olympians FC centerback Gustavo Vargas has been selected UPSL National Player of the Week.

A native of Bogota, Colombia, Vargas made nine clearances and was 17-for-17 passing in a 3-0 victory in a UPSL 2020 Spring Season Arizona Division game on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. Vargas played 90 minutes for Olympians FC (2-0-0 overall).

Vargas has captained Olympians FC, a new UPSL member club, to back-to-back shutout victories to start the season. Vargas previously played for Tulsa Athletic (NPSL) following a sterling collegiate career at University of Tulsa (NCAA).

The UPSL National Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by members of the league and journalists covering the UPSL, and decided by the fans via Twitter poll.
